The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, which opened in 2005, is a 20,000 square foot building on the north side of Alpena, along the Thunder Bay River, built by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to serve a dual purpose, research and education. Here, people can explore shipwrecks through pictures, lectured, live video feeds and by way of one very impressive globe.

Nestled in the grape growing region of southwest Michigan, Saint Julian Winery has been making wine in Paw Paw since 1936. The winery is a major player in Michigan’s economy. David P. Miller, PhD, Vice President of Winemaking, says “That's one of the things that we're really proud of is all of our grapes come from southwest Michigan.  So as we grow, we plant more grapes with our local farmers, it preserved the agricultural land and promoted agri-tourism.  We encourage people to come out, not only to visit the winery, but take some time to drive around the countryside".

Cedar Point's New Thrill Ride

Cedar Point has opened for its 138th season, and the fact that it's only a few hours away and filled with fun for young and old has made it a favorite fun getaway for families, schools, church groups, and thrill seekers for decades.
